Törnävän Kesäteatteri

Törnävän kesäteatteri on alun perin Seinäjoen Törnävän kaupunginosassa sijainnut Kesäteatteriyhdistyksen ulkonäyttämö, joka on nyt kuitenkin poistunut juuriltaan ja tehnyt vuokrasopimuksen Lapuan Vanhan Paukun kesäteatteriin. Kirjoittajan kesäperinteeseen kuuluneen teatterin siirtyminen kotipaikkakunnalle herätti mielenkiinnon yhdistyksen historiaan, joten kirjoitankin tähän nyt kaiken, mitä olen saanut selville.

Alunperin kesäteatteritoiminnan Törnävällä aloitti Ahti Jokisen, Antti Sepän ja Ossi Räikän Jätkät-teatteri vuonna 1992. Se tuotti näytelmiä aina vuoteen 2000 asti, jolloin perustettiin Törnävän Kesäteatteriyhdistys ry., joka jatkoi alkuperäistä toimintaa vanhaan hyvään malliin.

Kesäteatteri on useasti esittänyt tuotoksia vanhoista lastensaduista räätälöitynä kaikenikäisille yleisöille, kuten esimerkiksi vuonna 2002 Vaahteramäen Eemeli, vuonna 2003 Kaunotar ja Hirviö, 2004 Peter Pan, 2005 Robin Hood, 2006 Ronja Ryövärintytär, 2007 Tuhkimo ja niin edelleen. Nämä erityisesti ovat kehutuimpia esityksiä teatterin annissa niin nerokkuuden ja nostalgisen arvon takia.

Kuitenkin valitettavasti vuonna 2013 esityksessä ollut Janne Katajan tähdittämä Älä Pukeudu Päivälliselle jäi teatterin kotilavan viimeiseksi esitykseksi. Seinäjoen kaupunki peruutti lavan tontin vuokrasopimuksen jättäen teatterin ilman lavaa. Tosin nyt tietoon on tullut, että jo tänä kesänä Teatteri esittää Risto Räppääjä- lastenkirjoihin perustuvan näytelmän Lapuan Vanhan Paukun teatterissa. Toivottavasti tämä kulttuurillinen helmi on löytänyt pysyvästi uuden paikan uudelta paikkakunnalta.


The Törnävä open-air theater, located in Törnävä district of Seinäjoki was the Summer Theater Associations outdoor stage, which has however left their roots and singed a lease with the Lapuan Vanhan Paukun summer theater, the transition of the writers summer tradition to his hometown sparked the interest in the associations history, so here i am, writing you everything i´ve found out

Originally the summer theater productions were started by Ahti Jokinen´s, Antti Seppä´s, and Ossi Räikkäs´ Jätkät-theater, which produced plays all the way to the year 2000 when the Törnävä Summer Theater Association was formed which to this day has continued the original activities the good old fashioned way.

The Summer Theater is has often performed productions of old children´s stories tailored to an audience of all ages, such as in 2002 Emil in Lönneberga, in 2003 Beauty and the Beast, 2004 Peter Pan, 2005 Robin Hood, 2006 Ronja the Robber´s Daughter, 2007 Cinderella and so on. These plays especially are the most praised ones of the whole theater because of their ingeniousness and nostalgic value.

However, in 2013 played Don´t Dress For Diner starring famous Finnish entertainer Janne Kataja, ended up being the theater´s last play on its home stage, because the City of Seinäjoki cancelled the lease of the property the stage was on, leaving the theater without a stage. However now has been reported that during this summer already the theater presents a play based in the Finnish ´´Risto the Rapper´´ children´s books in the Lapua Vanhan Paukun Theater, and hopefully this cultural gem has found a place at a new locality for good.
