9. luokan Kokeilevaa sisustusta -tunnilla suunnitellaan ja valmistetaan sisustus- ja muita tekstiilejä eri teemojen pohjalta. Tarkoitus on luovasti ja rohkeasti kokeilla erilaisia materiaaleja ja tekniikoita, esim. huovutus, kankaanmaalaus, tilkkutyöt, painaminen kankaaseen, värjääminen, punominen, solmeileminen, pitsitekniikat, chenille-tekniikat ja muut konekirjontatekniikat sekä skräppäys.
9. luokan tekstiilityön valinnaiskurssilla opitaan valmistamaan itselle tai muille vaatteita sekä sisustustekstiilejä tekstiilimateriaaleista. Materiaaleina voivat olla kudotut ja neulotut kankaat ja langat. Kurssilla pystyy hyödyntämään myös käsityölehtien ohjeita, kaavoja ja malleja. Kurssilla oppii muotoilemaan ja muuntamaan kaavoja oman mallisiksi ja mukaisiksi. Lisäksi voi harjoitella muitakin tekniikoita, esimerkiksi kankaankudontaa. Jouluna on lahjapaha. Kurssin lopuksi valmistetaan lopputyö, jolla oppilas osoittaa osaavaisuutensa.
9. luokan unelmapuku ja vaatenäytös -kurssilla saadaan käyttää omia taitojaan ja opitaan soveltamaan valmiita kaavoja tarpeiden mukaan. Kurssilla valmistetaan unelmien puku, joka voi olla esim. cosplay-puku. Puvun valmituksesta ja suunnittelusta tehdään lopputyöraportti.
In the 9th grade “Experimental Décor” course students design and make interior and other textiles based on different themes. The goal is to creatively and bravely try out different materials and techniques, such as felting, fabric painting, colouring, weaving etc.
In the 9th grade "Textile work optional" course, students learn how to make clothes for themselves or others and also interior textiles out of textile material. The materials used can be either woven or knitted fabrics or strings. One can make use of instructions, models and patterns from textile work magazines. One can also learn to edit and modify the patterns to his or her wishes. Students can also practice other techniques, such as knitting itself. A gift workshop is held at Christmas. At the end of the course, all students make a final work, in which the student shows his or her full skills.
In the 9th grade “Dream costume & Fashion Show” course one can use their own skills and apply ready patterns if necessary. In the course, one the students will each make a costume or an outfit of their dreams, such as a cosplay outfit. A report about the making and designing of the costume is finally made.
